How long have you been on DeviantArt? I've been on dA for four years on this account. My old account DevilishPresley says that I've been a member for seven years. I didn't think it'd been that long.
What does your username mean? Alexandros Spiros Derveron is one of my oldest OCs. I'm working on a novel about him (not that I'd ever publish it because it's deeply personal) and I generally like to use his name as my online handle. It's a means to protect my privacy. Also, I just prefer the name Alex, to the point of using it when I introduce myself in real life too.
Describe yourself in three words. Orderly friendly idiot.
Are you left or right handed? Right handed all the way. My left hand is surprisingly useless.
What was your first deviation? Haha, oh boy, that was Nepher here:
That thing is so fucking old, good grief. And boy has my art style changed.What is your favourite type of art to create? Hm. I like to draw portraits of my OCs. Digitally and all. I'm sorta good-ish with faces and sometimes boobies, but fuck every other body part. By now, my focus is shifting towards writing fiction. Short stories, novels, mini-novellas, you name it. I'm currently working on four different stories in a range of genres: dystopia, drama, medieval fantasy.
If you could instantly master a different art style, what would it be? That's a tough one. I suppose I'd go for digital art, semi-realism. I like that style but fuuuuck I'm bad at it.
What was your first favourite? Okay then, let's delve into the horrors of my favourites then. I'd be surprised if my first favourite was still online, had to clean out a lot of storage stuff
Whoop, there we go. I'm not even surprised, I like the Anima stuff.What type of art do you tend to favourite the most? Digital art, fantasy, portraits, scenes. Usually people or creatures. It makes up the biggest portion of my favourites anyway. Closely followed by Urbex. Too much of a chicken to do urban exploration on my own, but I /love/ Urbex photography.
Who is your all-time favourite deviant artist? Aha. Tough one. Couldn't tell you. I usually end up fangasming over different artists once in a while. If I absolutely had to choose, I'd say nebezial though. I fucking LOVE his artwork, his story-telling and he seems like a pretty cool person. At least judging by his journals.
If you could meet anyone on DeviantArt in person, who would it be? Uh... Werwal. I know her from RPing and I think she got me into dA? Maybe. Anyway, yes. Anything else would be dreaming really fucking big.
How has a fellow deviant impacted your life? I don't think anyone on here has ever done that. dA is a site where I upload my art and I don't socialize much, so there isn't much room for amazing impact. I'm just too shy.
What are your preferred tools to create art? When it comes to drawing, I love my trusty Hanvon Artmaster and MangaStudio 5. It's how I do all my stuff, sometimes with additional touching up in PS CS 3 Portable. When it comes to writing? Microsoft Word + Raptor Gaming mechanical keyboard. It may sound like a typewriter, but it's insanely comfortable to use.
What is the most inspirational place for you to create art? My room. I suppose. I do everything on my computer and I don't often go outside anyway (yay, anxiety + depression!). I get most ideas when I go to bed, you know, that time juuust before you fall asleep. That sometimes takes an hour or two for me and gives me a lot of time to mentally work on my stories. In a way, that probably makes my writing the ramblings of a sleepless madman.
What is your favourite DeviantArt memory? Uh. It's an ongoing thing I guess. I'm rather thrilled when complete strangers comment on my works and tell me something's great. It's one thing if your friends love your stuff. They're friends. They're supposed to like your shit, right? But a complete stranger? Fuck yeah. Any and all comments or favs by random strangers give me such a nice feeling. Well, except for asshole comments, but I suppose that's obvious.
